A very big WELCOME to Sir David Attenborough Class from Miss.Gough (class teacher), Miss.Haslam (teaching assistant), Miss Bond (teaching assistant) and Mrs.Marriott (teaching Assistant). We cannot wait to start the year with you... we are going to have a great year!
This half-term, our topic is 'Urban Pioneers'. We are studying our local area and thinking about how it looks and feels to live and learn here, considering how we might change it or improve it further. We'll be looking at some significant artists and applying some of their strategies and talents to our own art work.
This half-term, we will be reading 'The Dot' by Peter Reynolds and will also be sharing Gangsta Granny Strikes Again as our reading for pleasure book. We're also going to be enjoying 'Fantastically Great Women Artists and their Stories' by Kate Pankhurst.
Our PE days are: WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY
Start/ End of day routines:
School starts at 8:45am and finishes at 3:15pm.
Home learning will be given on Thursday and due in the following Tuesday. This will be via dojo however paper copies will be available if you find this easier. Please upload to dojo after completing so I can give out dojos!!
Spellings will be handed out on Friday and tested on Thursday.
Contact: Nurturing and teaching your children is a privilege and it is our priority that your children are safe, comfortable and happy at school. All the members of staff in Attenborough class will be here to answer any queries you may have. For a quick chat or message about your child, I will be available at the classroom door on entry and at the end of the day however if you have a concern that may require more time, please send me a dojo so that I can arrange a telephone conversation or meeting when is convenient for us both!
Thank you in advance for your support as we start the new year.... here's to a more 'normal' year!!
