Welcome!
We are Pankhurst Class - a mixed 1/2 class. Our teacher is Miss Lowe and our super teaching assistant is Mrs Winterton. We also are supported by Miss Johnson on a Thursday!
PE
Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday and remember to wear your PE kit (outdoor kit) to school on those days as we won't be changing this half term.
Our next topic is
The Scented Garden
This half term, our topic is ‘Wriggle and Crawl’. We’ll be learning about different minibeasts and their habitats. We will also be taking part in some forest school sessions. We will be focusing on our key author Julia Donaldson and reading her book 'Superworm'.
This half term, our topic is ‘The Scented Garden’. We’ll be using our senses to find out about different flowers and herbs. We’ll also be planting our own seeds and bulbs and observing the changes as they grow. During this topic, children will be reading the story ‘Jack And The Beanstalk’ and we’ll be creating our stories based on this popular tale!
Towers, Tunnels and Turrets
Our next topic is ‘Towers, Tunnels and Turrets’. Children will invade a mighty castle, head across the drawbridge and meet Rapunzel who lives in a tall tower. During this topic, we will be designing, creating and evaluating castles, learning about the history of castle and the role were they are built around the UK. In Science, we will be looking at different materials and investigating how to create sturdy structures! We will take a visit to Bolsover Castle and discover the different parts of the castle. What protection did a castle have? Well that’s a question we’ll be investigating!
