Week Beginning Monday 9th December
English: We will be exploring postcards and rewriting the story of Nibbles the Book Monster.
Spelling:
Year 1: /ea/ sound sea, each, dream, meat, least
Year 2 Spelling rule- /j/ sound spelt as ge.
Math: In Maths we are continuing with place value and estimating using number lines.
RE: We are recalling the events of Jesus's birth.
PSHE: In PSHE this week, we will be identifying different people who can help to keep us safe.
Week beginning 25th November
English: We will start our Pathways to Write unit on Nibbles the book monster! Some of the writing we will do includes a wanted poster and using our phonics to spell out book titles.
Maths : we will be learning about subtraction.
We will be sending spellings home this week. Tested on Thursday 5th December (a day earlier due to the trip!)
Y1 - u-e and ar - June, use, arm, car, park
Y2 - The /j/ sound spelt as dge at the end of words.
In history, we will be having a special visitor in who was born in the 1950s and asking them questions about their life. We will also have a special Rocksteady Assembly on Monday and a special workshop!
Week beginning 18th November
English: We will continue our informational text and write about one of our monsters.
Maths : we will be learning about adding 3 digit numbers and finding a part.
We will be sending spellings home this week. Tested on Friday 29th November:
Y1 - i–e and o–e - five, time, like, home, hope
Y2 - The /ʒ/ sound spelt s.
In history, we will be thinking about what was life like in the 1950s? In art, we will be completing our colour challenge!
Week beginning 11th November
English: We will start a small unit on informational texts and write an informational text on one of our monsters.
Maths : we will be learning about addition and doubling.
We will be sending spellings home this week. Tested on Friday 22nd November:

Y2 - /u/ spelt o.
In RE, we will be learning about Eid and asking Miss Islam about being muslim.
Week beginning 4th November
English: We will continue our Poetry unit 'There's No Such Thing as Monsters!'
Maths : we will be learning about number bonds to 10 and 20.
