In March 2014 we joined the Minster Teaching School Alliance.
There are 30 schools within the Alliance from all over Nottinghamshire and the surrounding counties. The aim of the Alliance is to support the children of all of the schools through improving teaching and learning and outcomes for all children.
This is through the variety of training that is on offer; from courses about the new curriculum which is introduced in September 2014, to supporting student teachers with teacher training.
Staff are able to meet with likeminded colleagues and visit other schools to share and observe good practise. We feel that this sort of CPD is invaluable for us to be the very best that we can be.
The Minster Teaching School Alliance has been successful in it's application to become a Maths Hub. For the first year there is a Primary focus on the improvement in Maths teaching. We will be working in close partnership with 2 other primaries within the authority. Miss Blore, our Lower School maths lead and Assistant Headteacher, will be visiting Shanghai to carry out research into their fantastic teaching methods. We are positive that this experience will impact greatly on the teaching of maths in our school and we will support others within the Local Authority to make positive changes too! More information will follow and more detailed information can be found on the latest news section of the Minster school website.
