English - We are writing a poem about George's medicine!
Maths - We will be moving on to repeated addition and multiplication
Phonics - Y2 will be looking at the spelling pattern - change y for an i and add es!
Y1 - /oe/ and /ph/
Topic - For topic we will be tasting dishes from around the world and creating a soundtrack for George's medicine making!
Week beginning 20th January
English - We are writing a diary entry for George's marvelous medicine!
Maths - We will be looking at subtraction within 100.
Phonics - Y2 will be looking at the spelling pattern /ay/ /ey/ oy/ adding s
Y1 - /wh/ and /ay/
Topic - For topic we will be making clay faces of George's Grandma! We will also be creating sketches using different material. We are using natural materials to create images of Alice and George.
This week we also have a workshop for road safety.
Week beginning 13th January 2020
English - We are continuing to focus on Alice in Wonderland and will be writing a setting description from the story!
Maths - We will be looking at subtraction within 10 and Y2 will be focusing subraction within 100.
Phonics - We will be looking at /oy/ and /ou/ spellings. Y2 will be looking at the spelling pattern /wr/ for /r/.
Topic - For topic we will be learning about the famous artist Carl Warner! We will be learning about his work and also using his ideas to create our own food collages!
Week beginning 6th January 2019
English - We will be looking at commands and writing instructions about how to make the perfect tea party!
Maths - Y1s We will be looking at o'clock and half past and Y2s will be learning about quarter past and quarter to.
Phonics - Y1 will be looking at /ie/ and /ea/ spellings. Y2 are consolidating their phase 5 knowledge and tricky words.
Topic - We will be having our Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter's tea party! We will also be learning about the primary colours, mixing them to create other colours and making art based on Roy Lichenstein's art! We will also be mixing water with things and observing the changes.
