English - This week, we are continuing to learn how to use subordinate clauses, adverbs and contractions ready for our story writing next week.
Maths - We are now learning all about fractions using Shang Hai methods.
Topic - Moving on from pollution, we are now learning why people choose to settle near rivers and what a flood plain is. We will also learn what plants need to grow and survive, and will conduct an experiment about it.

English - This week we continue to develop our use of personification while learning all about the stages of a river.
Maths - We are now learning all about fractions using Shang Hai methods.
Topic - We continue this week to learn about geographical regions including counties and cities in the UK and other cities around the world. We are also learning about how soil is made and the water cycle.

English - This week we are learning all about personification to aid writing from a river's point of view about pollution and looking after our planet.
Maths - We are learning how to read pictograms, bar charts and tables in statistics!
Topic - To start our topic off, we will be using atlases and google maps to research countries in Europe and North/ South America. We will look at their physical and human features as well as environmental regions that contain rivers.
