Daily Learning Activities

Hi all,

We will be updating this page daily from Monday to Friday with new learning activities.

Stay safe and have fun!

Vendredi 3 Avril (Friday 3rd April)

Today you have 2 activities to choose from. You could choose 1 or decide to WOW ME by doing  both!

1. Mrs Potts' French activity

Today's challenge is.... to watch a french film! You could find a french film on Netflix or on Youtube. We have a couple of videos/films for you to watch - 'A Monster in Paris', 'The Red Balloon', 'Tintin and the Lake of Sharks'. Choose one of these videos and give it a watch.

Can you recognise any words you have learnt this year with Mrs Potts? You could write these words down.

All of the films above should all be suitable for 9 and under. If choosing other films to watch, please ensure they are age appropriate.

Below is a worksheet sent by Mrs Potts which focuses on the french Colours. Have a go at this and send this to me to see on dojo laugh

2. Mrs Winterton's arty-darty activity

Draw what you can see from your bedroom using any media you like - pencil, pen, chalk, cold black tea, food colouring, felt tips, paint, take your pick! The sky must have a rainbow somewhere in it.  I can’t wait to see how creative you all get.

Thursday 2nd April

Well done for all your fantastic creations. I am so proud of how much time, thought and effort you put into yesterday’s activity.

Today’s challenge is to create shadow pictures from whatever resources you have available to hand 😊. Here is an example:

Wednesday 1st April

The challenge today is going to be something a little bit different - We are going to a theme park!!

Today's challenge is... can you create your own rollercoaster or theme park ride? You could base it on a ride you have already been on, the youtube roller coasters we are going to 'ride' or could be your own unique idea. The choice is yours! You might want to link it to our 'Predator' topic.

There are a few things I would like to know before I go on your ride...

1. What does your ride look like? How fast does it go? What makes it special? -You could write a description of your ride, draw a sketch of your ride and label it, create your roller coaster using objects in your house or lego OR use any other amazing ideas you might have to show me!

2. What music or story are you going to tell me to get excited about the ride? - Usually, rides have a story, pictures or music to get the rider excited. What will you use?

3. How much does it cost to ride?

Watch these videos to get some ideas... Have fun!

Well done to everyone who logged onto Times Table RockStars yesterday - Did you beat your high score?

EXCITING NEWS

Chester Zoo are doing a virtual tour at 10am today on their Facebook page. They will be showing you around all the animals. With Year 3 not being able to go to the zoo, why not visit the zoo now!

I would love to hear of your favourite part of the tour, or which animals you liked seeing. Maybe you might be able to tell me some interesting facts too. You could keep a diary of each animal like we did at school and write some facts about it.

These times show you when different animals will be shown.

Today's challenge is....

Can you create a quiz about everything you have learnt in our 'Predator' topic? You can create the quiz however you choose!

Some ideas are:

- create a multiple choice quiz

- a quiz with just questions

- (if you are feeling extremely creative)  video yourself as a game show host asking questions to your audience...

You could quiz your family over the weekend - I wonder how many questions they will get right...

Remember to send your quiz to me too, I would love to have a go at answering them!

Have fun and stay safe this weekend!
