Using your work from this week, can you write a letter to the council to persuade them to plant more seeds? Think about the importance of plants in our community and explain how they help us and other animals! You could also use Miss Neale's example letter (Tuesday task) as a model!

Wednesday 6th May
English - Today we are going to be using our Farmilo Values to persuade the council to plant some flowers and other plants within the community! Use the examples on the sheet to help you! I can't wait to see what ideas you come up with!!

Tuesday 5th May
English - Today you are going to be sentence types detectives! You need to read Miss Neale's letter to the council and identify the commands and questions within the letter. Once you have done this, you need to write two commands and questions of your own which you would include within your own letter to the council! If you have forgotten what the sentence types are, here is a little video to help refresh your memory!

Monday 4th May
English: This week, our tasks will focus around the book 'The Flower'. Today, there is a video (see below) where I read the story and explain the task. We are going to be 'imagineering' this week, we have no flowers in our town (like Biggs in the book) and we will be writing a letter to the council to persuade them to plant seeds! Today can you make a mind map of important reasons why they should plant seeds and grow flowers?

English: Today is Big Write day! Your task is to write a description about your Bravesaurus which you created yesterday! I can't wait to read these and share some amazing ones on our class story!
Maths: Today you are going to look at 3D shapes, can you label the 3D shapes with their names? There is also some games which may support your learning with this activity today and a link to the 3D shapes song that we sing in school! There is also 2 challenge tasks today which we use in school (our DU and DU+), have a go on your own to see if you can work out the answers!
Y2 Maths: Today our focus is 3D shapes. Can you help Minion out by completing the table about 3D shape properties and seeing if he is correct or incorrect? I have included lots of helpful websites and games on your task.
Wednesday 29th April
Maths: Can you use different 2D shapes to create a piece of art? You can use different 2D shapes, cut out paper shapes or draw shapes straight onto your paper. You might even want to use technology to create your shape art, it is completely up to you how you present it!
English: We are going to look at The Worrysaurus book that Gareth read in his story yesterday. You might want to watch his video again as a refresher. Today, you are going to create a character profile based on a character 'Bravesaurus'. Can you think of key words to describe his appearance (looks), personality, hobbies and super powers? On page 2 of the document, I have included an example character profile for you!

Maths: Now you have identified different 2D shapes, can you label how many sides each shape has?

English: Today we will be focusing on commands. In instructions, we use commands to tell the reader what to do. Commands needs to have a bossy verb near the beginning of the sentence. Can you spot the bossy verbs?
Maths: Today we are focusing on weight. Can you compare the different weights using the term 'heavier' and 'lighter' ?
