Welcome
This week, we begin some transition learning in school and the booklet for this is provided below. Our Maths continues to focus on Algebra and our writing is an instruction text (and one of our favourites!)...How to Survive Year 6!
This week's spellings should be useful for your Big Write.

Friday 18th June
Today it's a chance to show off the algebra skills you've been refining these last 2 weeks with an Algebra Challenge - you don't need to do it as a test and you don't need to do all the questions! Choose the questions you want to revise and have a go at them.
Then have a go at the spelling test and also the Friday theme learning which this week comes in partnership with Mansfield Town and The Football League.
Thursday 18th June
Today, in Maths, we look at how we convert between miles and kilometres. It's also Big Write day; Mrs.Ferry and I are looking forward to reading your Year 6 Survival Guides!
Don't forget to work through your Transition booklets available at the top of the page too.
Wednesday 17th June
Today we begin to look at converting metric measures in Maths. This is something we began before lockdown and a good opportunity to come back to it and move forwards. Meanwhile, in your English today, I'd like you to begin to draft some ideas for paragraphs in the survival guide...but can you shift their formality? Can you add a tip or comment in at the end after the initially formal tone of each paragraph? If your instructions have 6 paragraphs to them, I think it would be a good idea to draft 3 of them and refine your language, sentence structure and tone carefully to help you in Thursday's Big Write.
Tuesday 16th June
Today we continue our learning with Algebra as we find pairs of values to satisfy equations. In English today, we are writing our introductory paragraphs to our Year 6 Survival Guide.
Mon 15th June
Today we continue our algebra learning and the WhiteRose Hub videos can be found here with worksheets below. We also introduce our instructional writing and a planning frame is provided.
