Home learning

Please aim to read daily with your child and write it in their planners. We will soon be launching a new whole school reading challenge. Reading can include PM books, library books and Bug Club.

In Year 2, children will be given weekly Maths or English every Friday. This is due in the following Wednesday. Children are also expected to complete one piece of topic home learning per half term.

Children will be given weekly spellings on a Friday and the test will be the following Wednesday

PE

Tuesday and Thursday but please keep PE kits in through the week in case of any changes. Thank you

September 2017

Welcome back! We hope you've had a relaxing summer holiday and are as excited as us for the new school year. Thank you to those who came to look around our new classroom - for those that haven't, feel free to come and pop in and see what our new room looks like! This half term our topic is 'Towers, Tunnels and Turrets.'

Our class texts this half term include: The Tunnel by Anthony Brown and the traditional tale Rapunzel.

We are visiting Bolsover Castle on Thursday 14th September.

Also we have a whole school museum on 19th October - Family will be invited in so we can share our amazing learning this half term!

Have a read of our half termly newsletter. You will find key information about what's going on in this topic!

14.9.17 - What a fantastic day Year 2 had at Bolsover Castle! All children were so well behaved and we all had a great time. We got to explore the castle and spot the features of a castle.
