Topic - The Little Red Hen - The Magical story box has seeds inside it this week. We shall use our senses to explore the seeds. We shall discuss what they are, where they have come from and what we shall do with them. There will be planting of seeds, seed art and making popcorn from corn kernels.
Letters and their sounds - introducing 'f' song, sound and action. Making the letter shape 'f' by saying the rhyme 'down the stem and draw the leaves'.

Topic - Jack and the flumflum tree - We visit the Island of Blowyernose! We shall be making smoothies with the fruit of the tree and making model trees.

Topic - Jack and the flumflum tree encounters sharks on his travels in his boat. We will be making boats to float on our Science Day and investigated how many blocks it holds before it sinks.

Topic - Easter Week! We are celebrating the story of Easter. On Monday we have a visitor who is sharing African Easter stories with us through music and dance. We shall be making chocolate egg cakes and cards.

Topic - The Day the Crayons Quit - The yellow crayon writes a letter about why he has quit. We want him to come back so we can use him in our artwork. There will be lots of yellow in the unit e.g. making pancakes with lemons, yellow blocks and gold coins etc.

Safety Awareness Week
We have lots of visitors this week to talk to us about staying safe.
St Johns will be teaching us first aid through "Bertie and friends'.
The NSPCC will be talking to us about children being heard and speaking out if something is not right.
There will be assemblies from the E-safety team, Fire Brigade, Police and A&E informing us about how they keep us safe and what we can do to help them.

Topic - The Magical Story box includes medicine, and a Dr's coat. The Bog baby is poorly.
Number learning - Parents are invited to see our sessions this week. We shall be counting with our flipper flappers, singing number songs and counting objects accurately.
We shall also be celebrating 'Chinese New Year' this week. We shall be eating noodles and prawn crackers having a go with chop sticks, listening to Chinese stories, making happy new year cards and having a dance with the dragon head.

This week is Happiness Week! Lots of fun to be had by everyone!
Muddy Monday - prepare for lots of digging, planting and getting dirty!
Bubbly Tuesday - involves bubbles everywhere! Blowing bubbles, washing the cars with bubbly water and making pictures with bubbles and paint.
Watery Wednesday - get ready to get wet! we shall be washing the floors, windows, doors outside and having water fights with pistols and water bombs.
Foamy Thursday - shaving foam will be everywhere! mixing it with paint, sand and play dough. Writing using our fingers and making foamy pictures.
Fire and Ice Friday - we shall be holding ice and watching it melt. Cooking marshmallows over a tea light and eating them.
