English - This week we are learning about the features of a poster before we design our own about crocodiles and alligators!
We are also learning the difference between precise and common nouns. 

 

Spellings:
shouldn't, wouldn't, doesn't, where's and won't. 

 

Maths - We are learning how to multiply 1 by 2 digit numbers using formal multiplication. 

 

Topic - This week we are learning how to code programmes, starting with beebots and ourselves before we move onto using software next week!

PE Days - Tuesday with Gordan and Wednesday with Miss Conneely

 

English - This week we are continuing to practice writing direct speech with a range of reported clauses. Our story for put big write will be based on the African Tinga Tales. 

 

Spellings:
disagree, disallow, disgrace, disapprove and dishonest (Revising these again)
mislead, misspell, misunderstanding, misbehave and misplace.

 

Maths - We are starting to work out multiplication problems using arrays and partitioning. We are also learning about commutative property!

 

Topic - An exciting week lies ahead as we find out all about the bones and muscles inside our body as well as investigating how fossils form!

English - This week we are learning how to punctuate and write direct speech correctly to help our story writing.

Maths - We are solving subtraction word  problems involving money. 

 

Topic - This week we are planning our fabric predator collage and starting our learning about different types of skeletons.

Topic - This week we are learning about the predators of the rainforest; where different rainforests are and what the climate is. 

Week Commencing 7.1.19

 

Happy New Year everyone! It's lovely to have the children back in school and ready to start our new topic which is 'PREDATOR'. During this half term, we will research different types of predators from animals to plants; learn about nutrition and skeletons; create collages using textiles and learn about the geography of rainforests.

Maths - We are learning how to formally subtract 3 digit numbers. 

 

Topic - This week we are learning about the food groups we and animals need to stay healthy; where around the world rainforests are and what a collage is.
