Week Commencing 25.3.19

 

PE Days - Tuesday with Gordan and Wednesday with Miss Conneely

Spelling being tested on Thursday are:  helpless, helpful, hopeless, hopeful, careful, careless

 

English - This week we are learning how to create exciting list poems about how to make a robot!

 

Maths - We are finishing our learning on adding/ subtracting lengths and working out perimeter. 

 

Topic - The focus of the week is art and design with lost of creativity taking place! Over the week we will be drawing chalk iron giants and creating iron giants from a range of materials.

SPELLINGS: 'suffix 'sion' -  mansion, permission, tension, pension, version

 

English - Using the story of The Iron Man for inspiration, we are writing our own story openers that will be full of suspense and cliff hangers!

 

Maths - Continuing on with time, we now move onto learning how to read a 24hr clock. 

 

Topic - This week, we are learning all about magnets! Using market research and our new knowledge. we are going to design a board game based on magnets! 
 

Week Commencing 4.3.19

 

PE Days - Tuesday with Gordan and Wednesday with Miss Conneely
 

 

English - This week, we are continuing to look into what makes a good explanation and start to write using the perfect present tense.

 

Maths - It's time for time! We are now recapping and embedding our knowledge of telling the time using analogue and digital clocks (12hr) up to 5 minute intervals. 

 

Topic - There's no slowing us down this week as we experiment and learn more about forces such as inertia, air resistance, velocity, gravity and friction!

English - This week we are learning what an explanation text is and the features needed to write one effectively. 

 

 

Maths - We completing a final recap on division and the formal methods we have learnt!

 

Topic - As our new topic is all about forces and metals, we are starting off with a trip to the park to learn how different forces work in our everyday lives! As well as this, we will conduct ramp and car experiments to test friction on different materials.
